I joined Oasis - online dating thing (its free), my friend suggested it as I’ve been single and distant from men for about 4yrs, she said it would be a good confident boost just chatting... I doubt i’ll meet anyone in person as i dont really trust it atm...
Anyway, so i added this one guy to my facebook who i was chatting to for a bit – i wanted to see more of his photos -
My friend kind of had a go and said “you have balls i dont even go that far” yet she... Only has contact thru Oasis, then allows them to have her number then meets them for a date....
What is worse
Adding them to your facebook (see if it’s a real person)
Or
Only contact thru Oasis, then allowing them to have ur number then meeting them...
I highly highly doubt i’ll meet anyone..it was justa question...and as for “picking up” yeah if u call me blocking every 2nd horny guy picking up then gee im going good! that has nothing to do with growing up....
Worse? IDK. I've had a few boyfriends that I met from online dating sites. There were guys I added to Facebook. There were guys I chatted with a bit online and then graduated to the phone. There's been a couple that didn't make the cut to an actual date, but one of them I dated for a year. Just FYI I've NEVER.... had someone misrepresent themselves and not be who they said they were...met anyone too weird (quirky, but not weird)...or even had a bad experience. Don't be so prejudiced against it, open your mind. My only advice would be to actually talk to them on the phone for a bit before making a date. The one guy I met for a date that I disliked outrightly, our only prior contact was through e-mails only. There is nothing wrong with meeting someone in a public place. Wouldn't recommend going to their house, or going anywhere that is isolated...ie, a park to go hiking...but there is nothing wrong with meeting someone for a cup of coffee or for lunch, just to see if you mesh. Do you want a boyfriend or not? If the answer is yes, you have to actually make an effort, and that means doing something DIFFERENT than you've done before...going outside your comfort zone. The worst that can happen if you meet someone is 1)you don't like him 2) he doesn't like you. It's a bit awkward, but then you send them a nicely worded e-mail saying "thank you for meeting me, but I don't think we're a match," and move on to the next guy.
