How can i Learn HTML...?
Im trying to learn HTML. So far i've learnt a bit about text, aligning, images and links from a website which has tutorials on HTML and i've been learning from them... but just yesterday i noticed that the website was out of date... and so i've been learning old HTML coding... from 2005 and im confused now because i dont know what the f*** im supposed to be learning... i used align and now they're saying use div instead... any advice guys? What should i learn? If you have any up to date HTML sites please let me know as it would be a big weight off my mind... i dont know what the newest version of HTML is but i want to learn from right now... the HTML being used now on websites, up to date not old coding that doesnt work, thank you so much.
You are right in wanting to learn according to the latest standards. Things have changed a lot recently in the web world, and the newer ways of doing things are actually a bit easier than the old ways.
The most important version of HTML currently is XHTML 1.0 Strict. If you learn this form of HTML, you'll begin with very good habits that will work in any other variant of HTML. If you start with one of the older forms of HTML, you're likely to learn bad habits that you'll eventually have to unlearn.
The older versions of HTML didn't have very good support for formatting, so there were a bunch of tags and attributes thrown into the language to provide some sort of formatting support (thinks like font, align, and center) Unfortunately, these techniques were not enough, and web developers resorted to all kinds of tricks like frames and tables to overcome the weaknesses of HTML.
XHTML removes all these layout-specific commands altogether (which makes it actually easer to learn than HTML) All of the layout and design is done with a related language called CSS.
The best way to learn is to start with plain XHTML in a plain text editor (or a souped-up code editor) and then add CSS for styling.

I also cover more advanced topics including JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and AJAX, so you'll be able to use these great tools when you're ready.
